Within Banff National Park, the town of Banff lies tucked away high in the Canadian Rockies. The townsite, which is surrounded by imposing mountains on all sides, is teeming with adventure and prospects for awe. Downtown’s bustling streets are dotted with upscale eateries, bars, and boutiques, as well as several outstanding art galleries and museums. The Banff townsite is compact, has an efficient public transportation system, and is simple to navigate on foot or by bicycle. The winter season offers a wide variety of activities that are suitable for people of all ages, skill levels, and interests.
On this six day program, you will experience the best winter activities. From snowshoeing, sleigh rides and an icewalk to a canyon where a waterfall has frozen in time, this tour has all the elements of a winter wonderland.

ITINERARY
Day 1 Calgary Banff
Transfer from the Calgary Airport to the village of Banff. You will get to see the mountain ranges upon landing and then when driving through the national park entrance, keep an eye out for wildlife.
Overnight in Banff at Mount Royal Hotel.
Day 2 Banff
Enjoy a sampling of iconic Canadian winter experiences. Try different types of snowshoes at Lake Minnewanka, walk along the steaming thermal waters of the hot springs and learn about how Banff National Park began. Stop at the best photo spots in Banff and end with a visit to the top of Sulphur Mountain for epic winter views and experience the sun fading over the mountain tops. Taste delicious classic Canadian treats and keep warm with a hot non-alcoholic Canadian beverage. Highlights include Two Jack Lake, Lake Minnewanka, Cave & Basin National Historic Site, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls and Banff Gondola.

Day 3 Banff
In the morning, explore the icy beauty of Grotto Canyon, see ancient native pictographs using special hiking crampons to grip the smooth frozen creek bed. The Grotto Canyon Icewalk is a hike through a narrow canyon, past unusual rock formations and spectacular icefalls. This is a unique experience to walk directly on the ice, and walking on the creek bed floor gives you a unique view of the canyon. In the afternoon, enjoy a tranquil sleigh ride amongst the Canadian Rockies and add a perfect “western touch” to a winter holiday.

Day 4 Banff
Lake Louise transforms into a real life snow globe in the winter that has to be seen to be believed. Your journey begins with a scenic drive along Bow Valley Parkway to Lake Louise, where you are often lucky enough to spot wildlife. Once at Lake Louise, your guide will assist in showing you how to put on your snowshoes and we’ll enjoy an easy, quaint snowshoe through the woods for some forest serenity. Finish on the famous lake itself with stunning views of the mountains surrounding the Chateau Lake Louise complete with a Canadian maple treat. Tour includes: Canadian maple treat, hot chocolate and Snowshoe sampler.

Day 5 Banff
Today enjoy a free day in the alpine town of Banff. For your last full day of the best winter experience ever choose between adventure, relaxation or both! Take an optional snowmobile ride, try tubing for endless laughs and lots of fun, or spend your time relaxing in the hot springs instead.

Day 6 Banff Calgary
Today your winter wonderland escape will end with a transfer from Banff back to Calgary Airport. You will still be able to see the mountains leaving the park to remember all the fond memories of your holiday.
